ILOILO CITY – Junior Chamber International (JCI) Regatta has recently opened the nominations for The Outstanding Students of Iloilo Awards (TOSIA) 2020.

Considered as the flagship program of JCI Regatta, TOSIA aims to give honor and recognition to well-rounded Ilonggo students who excel in academics, leadership, community involvement and faith in creating positive change.  Moreover, it is also a salute to schools for molding their students to be young active citizens.

TOSIA is open to graduating Junior High School and College students in both private and public schools in the province of Iloilo. The nominees were endorsed by the Principal for the Junior High School level and Dean of Student Affairs (or its equivalent) for college level.

The first stage of the program is the Bidbook Screening wherein applicants are asked to submit a bidbook of their accomplishments tailored to the four pillars of TOSIA.

After the bidbook screening, the semi-finalists will undergo the Essay Writing Challenge. The next round will be the Interview Rounds which will identify the TOSIA 2020 finalists.

The finalists will then undergo the Bootcamp, a servant-leadership training and transformation retreat in order for them to know their fellow finalists better, enhance their leadership skills and develop their advocacies.

Aside from the Bootcamp, the finalists will also conduct an outreach activity as part of their holistic development as servant leaders and fulfilling their advocacy to the community as young citizens sparking positive change.

The “Circle of Finalists” for each category will be announced during the Awarding Ceremony which is set on March 15 at Robinsons Place Iloilo.

“As we celebrate the 11th year of TOSIA, we are setting the bar higher as JCI Regatta aims to choose the deserving students who embody the four pillars of the project – academic excellence, leadership, community involvement and faith. That is why we have introduced different stages that will truly screen the applicants and get the best of the best”, said 2020 JCI Regatta President Florence King Erlano.
